Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy
Optimum nutrition forms another part of the basis for positive and resourceful
states of mind, and so is an essential dimension of a mind-body approach to therapy.
What Is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition and health science
in the promotion of optimising health and well-being. Nutrition therapy can help to
alleviate a range of disorders and illness (both mental and physical) but is also relevant to
anyone who just wants to function better.
The practice of nutritional therapy encompasses both advice on dietary change
and the use of nutrient supplements as medicines. Nutritional therapy recognises
each person's unique biochemical make-up and is based on assessment of
individual nutritional needs.
I am currently training as a nutrition therapist, and expect to qualify in
October 2009. However I am offering nutritional therapy, within the limitations
of ethical practice given my incomplete training, and am professionally insured
to do so.
