I am a York based psychotherapist specialising in working with
- Anxiety - in all its forms including panic, phobia, PTSD and OCD
- Depression and mood disorders
- Stress-related problems such as IBS, headache, hypertension, insomnia and fatigue
- Developmental and neurological issues such as ADD / ADHD
Psychotherapy demands a mind-body approach. How we think and feel is reflected in
how the body functions physiologically, and vice versa. Psychotherapy seeks to create
the conditions - both psychological and physiological - for positive mental states,
as well disrupt the conditions that maintain negative states such as anxiety and depression.
I offer an innovative and contemporary approach to psychotherapy which integrates:
- Biofeedback - a tool ideally suited for developing skills in mind-body integration
- Mindfulness - a meditative method of developing calm clear awareness
- Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques
- help you break free of destructive patterns.
Now also offering nutritional therapy, which can address the biochemical aspects
of depression, anxiety and other mental health issues.
In these pages you can read more about the different aspects of my approach
and how they link together to foster the growth of mind-body well-being and flexibility.

About The Therapist
I began training in psychotherapy and hypnotherapy in 2001, and gained an
Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. I hold a degree in
Natural Sciences from Cambridge University.
A long-time practitioner of meditation,
I first became interested in biofeedback as a means of enhancing meditative
concentration, and quickly grasped its therapeutic potential. I moved to York in 2005 and
established York Biofeedback Centre.
